Once a week at the dinner (or breakfast) table recite the verse and ask a question to help your kids learn AND APPLY God's Word. It may be helpful to do this on the same day each week.
Let everyone think about the answer before using the provided clues as hints.

TableTalk: One question per week:

JUNE

[1] Make a list of the people you love.  Make a list of things you love.  Which is more important – the people or the things?  Thank God for everything on your list.

[2] How does a person act if they love someone else?  How does a person act if they love money?  Which do you want to be?

[3] Have each person in your family define “content” and then look it up in the dictionary.  Who was closest?

[4] Read the rest of Hebrews 13:5.  How does that part help you be content?

 

JULY 

[1] Read the entire verse.  Decide as a family what you would like to give to God this month.

[2] Selfishness makes it hard to give cheerfully.  What can you do to kill selfishness and be generous?    

[3] Read the verse after this one.  How can this promise help you give cheerfully?

[4] Read the verse before this one.  What happens to the person who gives little?  What happens if you give much?

 

AUGUST 

[1] Read the entire verse.  Draw a picture of a very fancy and rich temple.  How are you a temple?

[2] Take a walk as a family.  What kinds of things did you do on your walk?  What did you talk about?  How can a person walk with God?

[3] Read your favorite Bible story out loud to Jesus.  Pretend He is sitting right beside you.

[4] Find a quiet place to be alone with Jesus.  Tell Him your favorite joke.  Ask Him to help you today.  Sing Him your favorite song.
