 Table Talk

Once a week at the dinner (or breakfast) table recite the verse and ask a question to help your kids learn AND APPLY God's Word. It may be helpful to do this on the same day each week.
Let everyone think about the answer before using the provided clues as hints.

TableTalk: One question per week:

[1] What book of the Bible talks about Abraham?  How many chapters can you find that mention him?

[2] Your actions should show your belief.  What actions proved Abraham believed God?  (Hint: Gen. 15:6; Gen. 22 and Hebrews 11:8-12)

[3] To credit someone means to write it down and remember they have done something good.  What good thing have family members done for you that you can give them credit for?

[4] Righteousness is right living.  Make a list of right things Christians can do.

[1] Good and pleasant things make us feel good.  Have each member of the family list 5 good and pleasant things – no repeats!

[2] In the bible “brothers” can mean males and females.  Ask your parents what it was like growing up with their brothers and sisters.

[3] Unity means togetherness.  Make a picture where everyone in your family draws a part.

[4] It pleases us and God when we live in unity.  How can you live better with your siblings and parents?

[1] Read the rest of this verse.  What things does Jesus say we should not worry about?

[2] Read Matthew 6:25-34.  What examples from nature does Jesus give to help us not to worry?

[3] What is the cure for worry?  See Matthew 6:33.  Draw a picture about this verse and put it on the wall near your bed.

[4] The opposite of worry is praise and thanksgiving.  Sing a praise and thanks song as a family today.
