Berean Mission Ministry
Missions is ministry that takes place outside of the parameters where Berean Members live and have
their normal routines and relationships. It most often crosses considerable barriers such as culture, race, socio-economics, and geography to reach people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Biblical Basis:
Matthew 28:18-20
"Then Jesus came to them and said,'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am
with you always, to the very end of the age.'" This is a command of Jesus to His followers which we are.
His command is to "go and make disciples" not "come and join us". We believe we are to "go", to take ministry outside the four walls of our building. This "go and make" is for both career missionaries and short-term missions
Acts 1:8
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We believe that our "Missions Ministry" should be in our local community, our state, our country, and in the world. We have local ministry that we support and have our members involved in. We support ministry in our district, our national denomination, and internationally.
II Corinthians 8: 9 & 14
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich." At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality." We are the rich beneficiaries of the Grace of Jesus Christ and we owe Him a great debt which we can never repay.
We have been blessed financially and have the means and the responsibility to help others in need
Berean has committed 24% of its General Giving to Missions Ministry.
