I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was seven years old, in June of 1967 in Darmstadt, Germany. My father was stationed at Wiesbaden Air Force Base in Germany and my Godly mother invited our pastor to our house that night, knowing that I needed to be saved. Pastor Colon led me to the Lord on the couch of our living room and the next Sunday I was baptized. I've been actively involved in each church I have attended in the past 35 years.
God called me into full-time Christian service at the age of 18. I was attending Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, while attending Liberty University, there in Lynchburg. I was a sophomore at the time and went on to graduate in 1982 with a bachelor of Arts degree in Radio Communications.
For the following 17 years, I served in Christian radio, starting at WRVL, the 50-thousand watt radio voice of Liberty University as a board operator and announcer and worked my way up to assistant station manager.
In 1990, I accepted the position of station manager of WVMC, the radio voice of Mansfield Christian School. I still do some part time announcing and serve on the board of WVMC.
My wife Cheryl and I started attending Berean with our two daughters in 1991. I served as Deacon, Kids Church leader, Shepherd Staff member, usher, visitation team member, small group leader and Sunday School teacher. In 2001, Berean called me to be the Pastor of Evangelism and Community Life. |
